Cowes Yacht Haven lends Haiti a hand
COWES Yacht Haven is set to lend Haiti a hand on Saturday, February 6 as it hosts a charity concert to aid victims of the earthquake.
Entertainment will come from some of the island’s favourite bands, including The Chancers, who were chosen as the UK’s most inspired unsigned band by Radio One listeners and DJ Rob Da Bank. Also taking to the stage will be Bestival favourites, The Kurves, The Majortones and the Guy Page Trio.
Around 1,000 revelers are expected to attend the concert, which has been organised by Isle of Wight resident, Lee Taylor, in association with Spencer Rigging Ltd.
Cowes Yacht Haven’s Events Centre Manager, Ian Gregory, said: “It was absolutely devastating to see the disaster in Haiti unfold on the news so when Lee Taylor approached us about hosting a concert in aid of the victims, we were more than happy to offer anything we could to help. Cowes Yacht Haven’s events centre is one of the biggest indoor events venues on the Isle of Wight, which is great because it means we can accommodate lots of people and raise lots of money for the relief efforts.”
Tickets for the event, which runs from 7pm to 1am, are available from www.haitiappealconcert.com, www.redfunnel.co.uk or on the door.
