Local food takes centre stage at Cowes Yacht Haven
AROMAS of the island’s finest food will waft from Cowes Yacht Haven on February 23 and 24 as it hosts the third annual IslandExpo Catering and Hospitality Exhibition.
After its great success last year IslandExpo is now firmly established as the annual meeting place for the Island’s catering and hospitality industry, showcasing products and services from all the major players in this important local sector.
The wide range of exhibitions on show at the event will provide visitors with the opportunity to get to know many of the island’s traders and to see the quality of the produce and services on offer locally. Features this year include:
- Island grown / reared produce
- Locally made products
- Specialist chocolates and cakes available to buy and try
- Wine, beers and spirits
- Catering equipment and accessories
- Demonstration with tasting by top island chefs
- Fresh tea and coffee on offer all day
One of IslandExpo’s organisers, Dan Burgess, said: “IslandExpo 2010 is going to be the biggest and best yet. It is an innovative and highly professional event, which can only serve to inject vitality and excitement into any business. As well as being of great value to Island businesses in general, through the promotion of our local products and services, IslandExpo allows your business to help the environment by decreasing the “miles” involved in sourcing everything you need for your company.”
Business Link is again offering a One-to-One Advice Shop at IslandExpo, where visitors can access, for free, expert, bespoke help to solve problems and boost business. Business Link will also run free business seminars during the show.
Back by popular demand for 2010 is The IslandExpo ‘Demo Kitchen’. Last year Cowes Yacht Haven welcomed Cyrus Todiwala Proprietor and Executive Chef of the Café Spice Namasté restaurant, who scented the air with his mouth-watering Indian dishes. This year’s visitors can again enjoy watching award-winning Island chefs and celebrity guests create new dishes from the highest quality local produce.
Entry to IslandExpo is free, and pre-registering is highly advisable. More information for exhibitors and visitors can be found at www.islandexpo.co.uk or by calling 01983 852332.
