Round the Island 2017
Competitors travel from all over the world to take part in the Round the Island Race.
This makes it one of the most popular fixtures on the Solent calendar with 1700+ boats taking part.
The Round the Island Race is a handicapped race meaning that everyone from Olympic medallists to weekend sailors can compete on an equal basis.
The boats race anti clockwise around the Isle of Wight, starting at the Royal Yacht Squadron line and head west towards the Needles, sailing a total of 55 nautical miles.
