Following the latest guidelines from Government regarding the lockdown in England starting on 5th November we have taken advice
from The Yacht Harbour Association and British Marine.
With this in mind:
- We are open as normal for all boatyard and winter storage services.
- Customers will still be able to access the site for business services including, but not limited to boatyard, boat servicing and tenants. However we encourage berth holders to adhere to Government rules for England requiring people to stay at home, except for specific purposes: www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november#stay-at-home
- The office & toilet facilities will remain open under the reduced hours of 0800hrs to 1700hrs each day. Our Birmingham Road and Marina Walk gates will remain open during these hours.
- No overnight stays will be permitted in the marina except for business.
Current Government guidance does not provide complete clarity and there are some uncertainties including Government’s definition of ‘exercise outdoors or visit an outdoor public place’. As and when we hear more we will update our online platforms.
Unfortunately the guidelines mean that “Pontoon View”, our onsite bar and food outlet will stop trading at close of business on Wednesday 4th November, but expects to reopen on Wednesday 2nd December.
As mentioned previously all of our boatyard operations continue as normal, and contractors with work permits, owners and their representatives are allowed to carry on working on site. It is perhaps a good moment to let you know that our new “Boatyard Code of Conduct / Safe Working Practices” is now available and can be downloaded here.
If you need to get in touch please call 01983 299975 or email: [email protected] We continue to monitor VHF radio Channel 80.
If you need to reach any of the businesses that trade from Cowes Yacht Haven please contact them directly.
During this new lockdown period we want to reassure you that your boat is being looked after, our regular security checks over night and CCTV systems are still in place and our team are onsite daily to ensure this is the case.
We continue to monitor the situation very closely and will action and publish on our website and social media platforms any new guidance issued by the authorities.
Thank you for your support and understanding. We hope to be fully back in action soon.
