Cowes Week

Since 1826 Cowes Week has played a key part in the British summer sporting calendar and is one of the UK’s longest running and most successful sporting events.

Cowes Week offers a great mix of competitive sailing and social activities. The competitors range from Olympic and world class professionals to weekend sailors.  Visitors come to watch the racing, enjoy the parties, and experience the unique atmosphere. It is genuinely a one-of-a-kind event.

Hundreds of yachts participate, from high-tech racing boats to classic day boats, and with thousands of people involved, it’s no wonder that Cowes Week is the longest running regular regatta in the world.

As well as sailing activities, Cowes Week offers a large number of onshore activities.  In addition to all the competitors,  thousands of visitors are attracted to Cowes Town each year by the festival atmosphere of the event.

Official Sponsor Cowes Yacht Haven – Competitors Village

Following previous and positive feedback Cowes Yacht Haven (the spiritual home of Cowes Week) is keeping its ‘back to roots’ ethos and will be presenting a boat-crew and family-friendly offering for this year’s Cowes Week. The main hospitality area, which remains open to all, will be in the South side of the site, with walkways giving quick and easy access to and from Red Funnel’s Red Jet terminal and Cowes High Street.  Once inside guests will find the Musto Sailors’ Bar.  The onsite stage will host the evening musical entertainment.  (Band schedule below)

All visitors are welcome to walk the north wall that wraps around the marina and gives the perfect vantage point to watch the boats coming and going and preparing for their racing.  The main hospitality area will be open from 1000hrs through to 2300hrs every day and entry is free of charge for all.

Guests are invited to visit and enjoy a variety of foods from Island traders.  Cowes Yacht Haven is proud to support the Cowes Week Regatta and is delighted to be hosting the opening crew briefings on Friday 1^st August, The Musto opening party on Saturday 2^nd August, The Mount Gay Crew Party on Thursday 7^th August as well as the closing party and end of regatta prizegiving on Friday 8^th August.

Early morning coffees, food and refreshments are available throughout the day from the Pontoon View bar, located in front of the main Cowes Yacht Haven buildings.
